I am not revealing his name because then all of you would know how truly lame I am. Be content to know that I suffer through lame movies and ridiculous television shows solely to get my fix. Le sigh! The Back to the Future box set is on sale at Wal-Mart for $29. I need this. I also need money. Until I get the second, I shall have to live without the first. And when I get my tax return, I'm going to buy myself a crappy car, and I really want to get a Darwin fish for it. Does this make me a nineties throwback? I am rebuilding my social circle. New friends include Geneva, Greg, Billy and Matt from work, and hopefully new guy Andrew soon, too. OldNew friends include the wonderfully wonderful Aaron. Actually, Aaron is the only OldNew friend. He's enough, though, with his silly literary references and the way he allows me to force him to refer to me as an "ilf." I got my first evaluation as a member of management the other day, and surprisingly, the area I scored highest in was "Understanding and Adhering to Company Policies." And my boss told me that he was pleased how well I was assimilating into the "culture of the corporation." I came ridiculously close to fleeing from the building when he said that, but then he mentioned my raise and the mental image of myself in a business suit with a wind-up key sticking from my side was replaced with a blinking golden money sign and I stayed. I am trading culture and humanity for cash! I am a fucking tool! But one with money! In conclusion: Angela is waking up. Angela is making up her mind. Angela is speaking in third-person.
